Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Comcast announced on Thursday, July 6, a new $7.4 million state grant to support the expansion of high-speed broadband service to 450 homes in rural areas in northern Baltimore County.
The grant, from the Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband’s Connect Maryland Network Infrastructure Grant Program, will provide high-speed access to about 99 percent of all area homes that had previously lacked service.
The project is expected to be completed in 2025, officials said.
